I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation.
A disgust response is often portrayed — by those who cannot fathom the depth of such an emotion — as some form of a more crude, or base, or even vulgar emotion: anger; fear; even attraction by those most depraved of interlocutors. To make absolutely no value judgment: it would appear exceedingly peculiar that bigotry against transsexuals; homosexuals; fat people; muslims; and other outsiders; are all given the “phobia” suffix. Trans-, homo-, fat-, islamo-, and xeno-phobia? These are not bigotries borne of fear, of course – they are borne of disgust. But liberals seem to have no disgust response whatever, and so such responses are wholly foreign to the leftist mind; they cannot fathom a truly visceral and gut-wrenching repulsion to something, whatever that thing may be. Whether this is on account of wilful, mental self-castration or some kind of developmental disability is another question; though there are certainly specimena of both kind. Liberals have no shame or sense of self-respect, and thus have no issue publicizing their deranged antics (those of a sexual nature being a particularly keen example), and encouraging others to partake in the same depravity.
Though I am arguing about the psychology of liberals, I will make clear from the outset: despite the fact that leftists are driven by a hatred of all things beautiful, I am not taking a political stance. And additionally, I am not advocating hatred, bigotry, violence, or any illegal action.
Now–: it is no surprise that so-called “conservatives” or Right Wingers in general have a much more severe disgust response than liberals,1 when one accounts for the emphasis which the Right places on purity – whereas leftists value transgression, nigh above all else (though not any transgression upon their “protected” classes). But moreover, the reverse remains true – at least in the case of Right Wingers. Higher sensitivity to disgust reactions tracks with traditionally Right Wing beliefs; like the aforementioned “homophobia.”2 This is also true of racist tendencies: “In addition, individual difference in disgust sensitivity was found to be predictive of implicit racial prejudice.”3 And while leftists transparently attempt to paint Right Wing views in descriptions of fearfulness, so-called “islamophobia” is significantly more tied to disgust sensitivity (and even anger);4 and that disgust sensitivity is a strong and significant predictor of islamophobia.5 Disgust sensitivity tracks even more significantly than authoritarian views with transphobic attitudes;6 and fatphobia — though often dismissed as a new and whiny political invention — also tracks with disgust sensitivity:7
The case of prejudice against homosexuals is an interesting case, because (straight) men in general — and irrespective of their ideological or moral prejudices — have a severe stress response to witnessing (male) homosexual kissing. In point of fact: the salivary stress response which has been observed in relation to viewing homosexual kissing is almost identical to the response garnered by a display of “disgusting images” which consists of maggots, rotting flesh, and spoiled food. But there is a difference – images of two men kissing solicited a more intense stress response than the maggots, rotting flesh, and spoiled food shown in the “disgusting images:”8
None of this is to give any sort of moral judgment; but rather to exhibit the (quite obviously and intuitively) natural link between Right Wing beliefs and negative reaction to disgust. I clarify that Right Wing beliefs are correlated with a negative reaction to disgust; because leftism seems to be correlated with (or perhaps even determined by) a positive reaction to disgust. I cannot possibly overemphasize the foundational importance of this point — which I have made severally; and will surely make many more times — to understanding the liberal mode of thought:
That many leftists do not possess the requisite psychosis to truly hold their beliefs with conviction. They are more typically just weak-willed and feeble-minded pushovers who have allowed themselves to be berated out of those impulses which stem from the obvious conclusions of reality.
Whether a thing is “right” or “wrong” is of no relevance here; all that is of relevance is whether a liberal believes that they can lie to you about a thing’s moral value (or lack thereof). As one instance: liberals don’t actually believe that humans are naturally anti-racist. Rather, I am certain that we can all easily recall 2016 SJW talking points which claimed that Whites are incapable of not being racist. And in actuality, the same maladjusted freaks who were SJWs in the Gamergate years (and were preaching that racism against Whites is impossible) have made little to no change in the years since; with “Critical Race Theory” serving as proof of this fact.
I am making no claim about whether homosexuality, transsexuality, or other similar acts are repulsive; but for some reason liberals have — independent of any hypothetical Right Wingers’ suggestions — decided these things are disgusting. Yet, they cannot feel disgust; this is beyond them. In its stead, they attempt to intuit what things they might naturally feel a repulsion towards (were they healthy), and thereby create their idols. Leftism is as much an attempt to uplift what they see as the poorly-turned-out, the deformed, the maladjusted, the sickly, and most importantly the ugly – as it is a hatred of the well-turned-out, the robust, the intelligent, the healthy, and the beautiful. Leftists make aesthetic evaluations which are identical to those of Right Wingers, but their value judgments are an exact inversion; they simply choose to elevate that which evokes a disgust response in normal people and to hate that which uplifts the perceiver.
Liberals don’t simply possess and then discard a sense of disgust; they lack an operational disgust response altogether. Leftists are engrossed in perversion such as Salò because their moral architecture is wholly inverted, rather than merely “contrarian.” And they are capable of such debaucherous taste because they are incapable of ever fathoming such a deep and heartfelt feeling, or such a complex emotion, as disgust. They are not only mentally, but also emotionally stunted – and so even in a liberals’ inverted moral architecture they cannot ever truly feel disgust at those they claim to loathe. Leftists are not “repulsed” by Christians, nor do they feel disgust at Christianity: they feel ressentiment and impotent rage. This is the feeling which they translate as “disapproval” or “rejection:” and so they cannot ever model within their mind a true and honest rejection of a “disgusting” thing; assuming that every individual is lying as brazenly as they.
Yet, do not be fooled; leftists know what is disgusting – which is why they can maintain a perfect track record of elevating all things disgusting. Certainly, part of this ability for recognition is a “social construct:” liberals are shown their whole lives what the term “ugly” means; they are not incapable of pattern recognition, as much as they would wish for you to believe that they are. Nevertheless, a larger and more significant portion of the cause is “inbuilt.” Though a sociopath may understand what they “ought” feel empathy for or what “should” invoke empathy, they are incapable of experiencing such an emotion. A sociopath may understand that a reversal of roles would leave them displeased, but they cannot care. Huge swathes of leftists are almost certainly sociopaths; see their absolute lack of care for Whites and any marginally Right Wing figure; see also, their incessant ideological self cannibalization. A lack of any disgust sensitivity is a deficiency of the same kind – though it is nevertheless distinct.
I grant: a great many people act as sociopaths merely because they lack the intellect to envision a hypothetical such as role reversal; but a lack of disgust sensitivity operates in the same way that true sociopathy does, and is present in every echelon (however little variance exists) of leftist intellectual capability. This may be an inborn trait, or it may be a psychological amputation. Whether it is an inborn trait or no, is case dependent; but no matter the origin of such a deficiency, it results in a total inability for the leftist inner life to produce a feeling of disgust. Leftists can see, hear, smell, and even touch ugliness; but they cannot feel it. They are thus left with a worldview in which any model of another mind is critically defunct; such as a man with colorblindness attempting to mentally model the color “red.”
And though those explanations such as fear and anger are understandable from this lens, one demands particular scrutiny: “attraction.” Leftists respond to homophobes with accusations of homosexuality (once more criminalizing — within their own mind — the trait behind the accusation) because there is nothing to fear about a homosexual. And the liberal believes that the anger is play-pretend. And so, they leap to attraction; the last vulgar feeling which they are capable of “understanding.” One needs only examine the amount of nonwhite women who proclaim themselves activists against systemic White privilege and racism – who yet cavort with White boyfriends; to see an ugly glimpse at what I mean. If a liberal cannot feel true fear or anger when presented with a thing, then all they have left to do is to ignore it (which they do not have sufficient self-control to do), or to engage in it. This is, of course, the reason that liberals have been at the forefront of acceptance for every social movement, and every perversion; every push of social and sexual boundaries. The way that these things appear is a topic which is due another, fuller conversation; but leftists are all too happy to participate, when given the chance.
Liberal tendencies — that is, the specific parasitical social phenomena and general obtuse ignorance presented — cannot be explained merely by the desire to uplift and praise those things which they think are vile. One needs also understand the liberal’s lack of understanding. Again: liberals cannot ever fathom an inner life which is complex enough to generate disgust, and so they genuinely believe that nobody else can either; everyone else is either fearful, in a cynical, self-serving sense; or angry, due to an infringement on their goals of short-sighted cannibalization; or attracted in some way, either in platonic or sexual manner. This phenomenon is easily-observable when they are forced to respond to any sort of illiberal tendency, even those which are not particularly Right Wing. About two weeks ago, this post in particular struck me as a powerful demonstration of the aforementioned principle:
Certainly, there is a complex confluence of factors which contribute to this inability to feel disgust. The most obvious factor is that: it seems evident that liberals are far less intelligent than highbrow Right Wing thinkers of any kind; yet slightly (though significantly) more intelligent than an average Right Winger. Liberals seem to fall almost exclusively within the centre of an IQ bell curve (excepting a tiny group of outliers on the far left side) – and their midwittery seems — at first glance — to be a reasonable explanation for this phenomenon. And it is; in part – but it is certainly not sufficient. The most significant contributing factor in this reality is a true, deep, and piercing sickness – a fundamental malformation and ugliness of the soul.
Disgust is the most complex human emotion by far, and to reach its true visceralities requires a level of attunement to one’s own inner life which is wholly beyond many people – and a refined discrimination between beauty and ugliness (even when this discrimination is flawed). Of course, even the dimwitted and the midwitted can feel a sense of disgust; even if they cannot holistically cultivate it. This is precisely what makes liberals unique: that while even a “stupid” trailer-trash conservative can experience a disgust response at ugliness, they cannot.
Ugliness is evil, and liberals exalt ugliness above all else – it is their guiding principle. The exultation of ugliness which characterizes the liberal is the same trait which places them firmly in “the middle” or “the median” of all things. It is unsurprising that people of middling intelligence would naturally revolt against beauty; as they see themselves as median in all things (even when this is an overestimation of their abilities): they are the herd animal:
The instinct of the herd considers the middle and the mean as the highest and most valuable: the place where the majority finds itself; the mode and manner in which it finds itself. It is therefore an opponent of all orders of rank, it sees an ascent from beneath to above as a descent from the majority to the minority. The herd feels the exception, whether it be below or above it, as something opposed and harmful to it. Its artifice with reference to the exceptions above it, the stronger, more powerful, wiser, and more fruitful, is to persuade them to assume the role of guardians, herdsmen, watchmen—to become its first servants: it has therewith transformed a danger into something useful. Fear ceases in the middle: here one is never alone; here there is little room for misunderstanding; here there is equality; here one’s own form of being is not felt as a reproach but as the right form of being; here contentment rules. Mistrust is felt toward the exceptions; to be an exception is experienced as guilt.9
And it is for this reason that, seemingly paradoxically, they side incessantly with “minorities,” no matter of what kind – be it foreign residents with radically anti-egalitarian views, or whichever poor “picked on” group one can pick up off the street: because they imagine a sort of bond linking them to such people. In the actual mental calculus which a liberal performs, they feel a desperate need to degrade their own standing. And they thus feel a need to push any claim of importance — or value — away from themselves – and consequently, any person that they have a tangible bond with:10
This is because a person with no sense of disgust can hardly view themselves as being “above” anyone or anything – they are the bottom of the social “totem pole,” and so they view the mediocrity of the perverse masses and the vain, imported hordes as their perfect equal; unfairly maligned and foolishly skipped-over. That anyone could ever have the gall to suppose an ideal of beauty (and consequently reject ugliness) is not just incomprehensible, but existentially dangerous. It is this tendency which underlies the “guilt complex” or “inferiority complex” which is observed in leftists: that a handsome, well-educated, well-off, successful person who is, at least, not an abject dullard; is no more above the dregs of society than you or I are above them. Of all relevant data points, this in particular presents the most frank summation of leftist values:
And so a lack of disgust culminates in a true and abounding social ignorance: that any kind of repulsion towards any class (be it universally-hated zoophiles, or slightly controversial “celebrities,” or anything in the between) is wholly alien. Thus a disgust held for any one of their (imagined) rank is an attack on each and all of their class.
Hatred for the privileged in body and soul: revolt of the ugly, ill-constituted souls against the beautiful, proud, joyous. Their means: inculpation of beauty, pride, joy: “there is no merit,” “the danger is tremendous: one should tremble and feel ill,” “naturalness is evil; it is right to oppose nature.” Also “reason.” (The antinatural as the higher).
Again it is the priests who exploit this condition and win the “people” over. “The sinner” in whom God has more joy than in the “just man.” This is the struggle against “paganism” (the pang of conscience as the means of destroying harmony of soul).
The hatred of the average for the exceptional, of the herd for the independent. (Custom as true “morality.”) Turning against “egoism”: only the “for another” has value. “We are all equal”;— against lust for dominion, against “dominion” in general;— against privilege;— against sectarians, free spirits, skeptics;— against philosophy (as opposing the tool-and-corner instinct); with philosophers themselves “the categorical imperative,” the essence of morality “universal and general.”11
Though the talking point about liberalism “being a religion” is a tired one, many of its premises ring true – certainly in those critiques which Nietzsche levies towards the institution of religion. The liberal sees himself as the sinner rather than as the just man (White guilt for supposed innate “racism”); and the institutional bloc which utilizes his self-hatred are his priests; wielding hearty condemnation for all skeptics, and commanding authority over the categorical (social) imperative. The desire for wealth or property is the condemned and hated lust for dominion. A leftist is not categorized by policy prescriptions, but by the fundamental underlying moral framework which they have been given (or beaten into); by the monuments and idols of ugliness to which they devote their worship.
And so what we might call the “heresy” which exists in liberalism, is this: a complete rejection of that which is human, in favor of that which is anti-human – of the beautiful for the disgusting. Leftism is the ideology of ugliness, and consequently of weakness; it presents itself in the pallor and sickliness of its proponents, who cannot even fathom the sense of disgust which they intuit that they should feel at themselves. The inability of the liberal mind to discard something often results in attraction, as discussed prior; and so its attraction to every ugly thing brings about its own sickness, and spiritual death.
Physiologically speaking, everything ugly weakens and oppresses human beings. It reminds them of decline, danger, powerlessness; it actually makes them lose strength. You can measure the effect of the ugly with a dynamometer. Whenever human beings are depressed, they sense that something “ugly” is nearby. Their feeling of power, their will to power, their courage, their pride—it all falls with the ugly and rises with the beautiful . . .12
The leftist is, in all things, a moth to a flame: a person who is ever-ill; a person who constantly imbibes poisons. The leftist is ever drawn to their own demise, and the sickliness which they fall down into all through their life makes them eventually desire their own demise. It is therefore wholly unsurpring that the liberal votes for their own death via policy – and in some cases, enacts their own death. Apropos of nothing in society, a liberal draws up their policy prescriptions with the intent of disenfranchising himself. It matters not that it is exclusively the other which benefits from their vote – for, remember: there is no “other.” For the liberal, there is no meaningful classification of self — let alone an one which is sanguine — and so the hive has benefited, which is all that matters; or at a minimum, matters far more than any other group’s well-being.
At least, this is what a liberal may tell themself to retain some bit of justification, so as to not devolve into forthright psychosis. In reality, a liberal knows that their policy prescriptions damage society, and enfeeble the institutions which they rely on – even those to which they turn with an especial reliance, to support outsiders and the disenfranchised of all sorts. But a liberal simply cannot care.
Nearly all liberal pathology and behavior can be understood with the lens of a singular premise: that the leftist can feel no disgust upon observing the state of the world they have created; nor can they feel disgust upon observing the people which thrive in such a world; nor upon looking in the mirror. The leftist mind cannot fathom disgust, and so it cannot ever pass a realistic, or clear-sighted judgment on itself – because it cannot ever feel its own disgustingness. So all the while this ugliness poisons the leftist’s soul, debases him (as does the ressentiment inspired by this ugliness), and instills some sort of sickly desire to die; to cease struggling – yet the leftist cannot muster sufficient self-awareness to realize any of this. Liberals are miserable people; and so it is no wonder that they vote for policies which will kill them; for they cannot even identify their misery – only that the world seems colorless and lifeless. And so, seeking to fulfill their destructive self-hatred, they charge towards the edge of a cliff: attempting to drag all the rest of society — whether Right Wing or no — off the precipice with them.
All that one must do is to step aside; to ignore all the moralizing roadblocks which a leftist wishes to put in your path. All that a liberal is capable of doing is effetely whinging; so do not engage with their ugliness, and let their words fall heavily upon the floor – and then step over it.
